Qualifications:

Lighting: In television studio productions I have good experience with lighting, and have done lights for various settings with moving and static participants. This aquifers a knowledge of the basics of 3 point lighting used in a bigger scale, as well as the experience to get the desired lighting effects. I have also done lighting for various documentary projects on location, and do therefore have quite a bit of experience with for example colour temperature and mixed lighting.

Sound: As one of my hobbies involves sound work, and quite often also sound recording, is this probably the field where I'm the most competent. Also my year in folkehøyskole (Norwegian private school) doing a music course taught me loads about sound and recording, setting up microphones for a full band in a studio using a variety of condenser and dynamic mic's with various structures and sound colours. Throughout university I have done sound for a number of video projects, which obviously involves the challenge of hiding the microphones and get the desired sound at the same time, as well avoid as far as possible bad sound environments building on my knowledge of surfaces.

Camera: I have experience with a variety of digital video cameras like the Sony DSR-300, PD-150 etc and also a few analogue cameras. My camera experience does for the most part involve studio work, though I have the knowledge needed to do location work too even though my experience here is limited. I do also understand normal camera lingo and frame composition, and can do most camera moves it be focus pulls and throws, track'n'zooms, and of course the normal set of pans, tilts, crabs, tracks, zooms.

Editing: As compulsory in both collage and university I have used both digital and analogue editing. With analogue editing I'm reasonably quick on the two wheeler, even though this is by many seen as a passè technology. In digital editing I have experience with such programs as Purple, the same programs they now call Pinnacle Edition, which is standard at the BBC at the moment. For sound editing I have used programs like Cubase SX and also less professional programs like CoolEditPro.

Directing: The directors job is for some reason to be the job I feel most at home with. During my time at the university I got to try out the directors chair three times. The first time did not go too well, due to an incompetent group where most member were failed as a result of their lack of interest. The second time was for a radio drama piece I had also written, and here I got experience with directing actors. This radio drama got the mark of 69% with is 1% under a 1st class recommendation. The third time I got the chance to direct was in a video documentary production, and this went very well. For this documentary we got 74%, which is a 1st class and some tutors from the university said they would be surprised if we did not get nominated for a Royal Television Award. This award ceremony is in January this year, so we just have to wait and see.

Web design and multimedia: This is mostly an additional thing I've been doing both as a hobby, and also had some courses in at the university. Through the university courses I got experience with formats like Shockwave and Flash, as well as using programs as Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop, Imageready etc. Through this course we also learned how to make multimedia CD-ROMs, and program in Lingo enabling us to allow a greater deal of interactivity to our products. On my own I have started to teach myself PHP and soon also MySQL, which soon will allow me to make more dynamic database oriented webpages.

Music: Since I was 17 years old I have been making music on commission for various media companies. Since then I have also taken a course in music on folkehøyskole (Norwegian private school) and through that also got the grasps of some of the theory behind composition and arranging. So even though I might be for the most part self taught, I do also have some theoretical background knowledge.
