Me as a TV presenter:
When I was 11 years old I was fortunate enough to get the chance to be a presenter/reporter for a children's TV show (Nysgjerrigperiskopet) on Norwegian national television (NRK). This was a program featuring popular science aimed at children aged 10-14, with the primary aim of stimulating their curiosity. I was a presenter/reporter for this program for two whole years, and you can imagine what a great experience this was for a child, meeting celebrities and being recognised on the street by strangers. |
The first year I presented together with two girls (Karin Kilde Evensen, Reidun Wiken), and the whole thing about being on TV regularly was all a bit weird to me. I wasn't completely at ease with the presenting/reporter job in the beginning, but I soon started to get the grip of it. At first the best part with this job was being excused from school whenever the crew needed me. Of course to travel all over Norway and meet various interesting people was great too.

The second year I got two new presenting colleagues,
Maiken Hansen and Bård Lappegård Lahn. Now I really started to
get the grip of my presenting and I felt comfortable in front
of the camera. As I've experienced later, presenting isn't really
something you forget how to do. I've been in front of the camera
on some of the student television productions here in Sunderland,
and I still feel at ease with the job. So I'd say it was a great
experience and I would definitely do something like this again
anytime. |
