This is a short radio package or ‘reportage’ as some might recognise it as. I’m investigating the current state of British beer culture and why there is a trend toward foreign lager style of beer in Britain with it’s proud tradition in this area. I use myself to bind the whole thing together as I can allow myself to ponder about this as a foreigner coming to England, and thereby giving it a personal twist instead of being only case lead.
Being alone in this production proved to be relatively
tough as I were responsible for all stages of the production.
As a first year student my research skills weren’t properly
developed, and I spent a whole month trying to get a representative
for CAMRA as an interviewee. I didn’t really have a plan
B at the moment, and didn’t realise that getting an interview
would be difficult as I’m a student and not a ‘proper’
reporter yet. However I did manage to find a doctor in beer brewing
on the university, and he proved to be a good interviewee for
my project.
